A web of complex & sweet citrus and stone fruit flavors this an exquisite Ethiopian pour-over and a strict b side player – leave the milk in the fridge for this one.
Tucked away in the Bombe mountains of Ethiopia’s Sidama growing region this coffee is from a privately owned processing site near Keramo Village, Along with coffee from their own farm called “Daye Bensa”, they are buying and processing coffee from numerous other farms close by.
This lot is a mix of coffees harvested from their own farm and growers around Keramo village. It’s certified organic too, which means that they go to great lengths to register every small farmer who they buy from and certify that organic agricultural practices are being employed at the farm level. Sweet smells of maple syrup, brown sugar, toffee, praline and more are raised in the bloom, as well as a delicious honey/orange mix. The cup drinks as you would expect from a super high quality washed Ethiopian VERY sweet with refreshing citrus notes that open up on cup cooling to accents of peach and nectarine, with a jasmine note crowning the cup.
Keramo doesn’t have the high acidity you might expect from citrus-laden brew. It’s rather mild for Ethiopia, but definitely not muted either, think herbal lemon tea; boosted in flavor with floral & stone fruit flavors – fleshy peach, dried apricot and nectarine.
